Book 1: To Eiridelium

A long, long time ago, a demon fell in love with a goddess. She was stunning, hair as red as everlasting sunsets. Her eyes beamed as crimson as the blood spilt on her feet. And despite the nature of demons told, this demon had no wish or will to do as the old ones did. The demon fought back its very nature, even cursed it at times. He knew he stood no chance to gain her favor. He knew he could only dream of her lips, her hands, and her eyes that he solely wanted for himself. He gave up such foolish thoughts until she showed up right in front of him. Her smile as gleaming as ever, her laughter filled his cold heart. ‘Twas quite a shame that their love never made it. Perhaps that is why the demon wept with her lifeless body in his hands. Wept as the color of blood spilt from her body. Wept as she smiled, trying ever so hard to reach up to his face. Wept for the last sentence she ever spoke to him. Wept for the time that was cut so short. Wept for the moments that never lasted. And, wept for her, who still smiled at him. He will never love again. And he will never love…again…
